Administrative Assistant - Posting # 09-040

Experienced Administrative Assistant needed to provide support to the agency Mental Health Department.  This position is responsible for data entry as well as assisting with problem solving and data integrity.  Additional duties will include filing and copying documents in a timely manner and in accordance with agency policy & procedures.

Knowledge Required by the Position:

  • Associates degree in administrative field preferred;
  • Minimum of 2-3 years billing and data entry experience;   
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to produce accurate data entry, reports, forms, etc.;
  • Ability to maintain composure when interacting with uncooperative or aggressive clients;
  • Ability to problem solve and think outside the box;
  • Excellent attendance and a self-starter;
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and written;

The Residential Facility Staff (RFS) - Posting # 10-07

Lifeline Professional, a 16 bed facility, is seeking Residential Facility Staff for our new program. Schedules and duties will vary. The unit will begin operation on February 1, 2010. One lead and several other positions are available. In providing these services, the incumbent performs the following duties independently:

  1. Ensures a safe environment that promotes recovery for patients.
  2. Will assist patients as needed with homework assignments for treatment plan goals and objectives.
  3. Will work as part of a treatment team.
  4. Will provide advocacy and assist in facilitating access to necessary community resources, sober support systems, and other professionals.
  5. Maintain complete and up to date files that document all services and contacts provided consistent with the requirements of WAC and agency policy.
  6. Supports and implements agency policies and procedures.

Knowledge Required by the Position:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required;
  2. Prefer College course work and working towards 2 or 4 year degree;
  3. Prefer experience working in an Inpatient Drug and Alcohol treatment program;
  4. Familiarity with issues specific to addiction and recovery;
  5. Must possess a valid, unencumbered driver license with clean driving record;
  6. Maturity and ability to communicate assertively both verbally and thru written communication;
  7. Willingness to work week-ends and nights.

Cook - Posting #10-001            

Cook needed to prepare and serve meals and snacks to agency clients and staff members.  This position is responsible for food preparation, dish washing, meal serving, and kitchen cleanliness.  Additional duties will include requesting supplies, reporting complaints, checking in orders, and following kitchen procedures in accordance with agency policies & procedures.  This position may also be asked to provide back-up in other facilities departments as necessary.

Knowledge Required by the Position:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent;
  • 2-3 years kitchen experience preferred;   
  • Current food handlers permit required;
  • Ability to maintain composure when interacting with uncooperative or aggressive people;
  • Ability to problem solve;
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds on a regular basis;
  • Must possess a valid, unencumbered driver license with clean driving record;
  • Excellent attendance and a self-starter;
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and written;

Mental Health Professional - Posting #09-038

This position is responsible for clinical and case management services in the co-occurring treatment program. Duties include but are not limited to conducting assessments and intakes, providing guidance and support for consumers in the development of individual service plans, individual therapy and group therapy and community based case management activities. These duties will be conducted in the agency, the community and in Clark County Jail. This is a 40 hour per week position. Evening work may be required.  Baseline qualifications necessary to apply for this position (applicants who do not possess these baseline qualifications will not be interviewed):

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field, Chemical Dependency Professional or the ability/interest to become a CDP within 1 year is preferred. Candidate must be a Registered Counselor in the state of Washington. 
  • A valid, unencumbered Washington or Oregon driver’s license is required. (This position requires using personal vehicle to drive consumers in the community on occasion.)
  • Must successfully pass a criminal history background check and be capable of obtaining jail clearance.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations who vary significantly, including social strata, age, education, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to help consumers achieve their goals.
  • An understanding of local community services.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with community agencies and service providers.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Chemical Dependency Professional – Posting # 10-004

The position provides counseling and case management for clients of the agency. S/he assists supervisory staff and Program Manager in program review, daily management of treatment activities, and training/orientation of junior staff and trainees. S/he is responsible for the daily supervision of the space, facilities, and equipment of the agency. In providing these services, the incumbent performs the following duties independently:

  • Assesses the psycho social functioning of assigned clients and develops individualized treatment plans;
  • Apprises team members of specific treatment plans and intervention strategies so that therapeutic consistency can be maintained;
  • Leads treatment groups according to agency treatment guidelines;
  • Develops discharge/aftercare plans and makes appropriate referrals for follow-up care;
  • Documents relevant clinical information including treatment plans, treatment reviews, progress notes, and discharge summaries;
  • Provides crisis intervention services, information, and referrals to clients and their family;
  • Provides motivational counseling to collaterals to encourage participation in family support programs;
  • Teaches specialized treatment concepts to client groups according to agency treatment schedule;
  • Provides complete and accurate written and oral formats regarding the course of treatment to families, referral sources, and legal representatives;
  • Recommends and participates in the development, design and documentation of policies, procedures, and activities for the agency; and
  • Conducts alcohol/drug assessments pursuant to WAC 388-805, or its successor.

Knowledge Required by the Position:

  • Must be knowledgeable in a wide variety of therapeutic approaches and be able to set and maintain therapeutic limits.
  • Must be flexible, versatile and skilled in developing creative behavioral interventions that modify inappropriate behavior;
  • Capable of functioning autonomously while maintaining continuous communication with other staff members;
  • A broad knowledge of the stages of human personality development including cultural, social, and psychological factors affecting individuals and families involved with chemical use;
  • Knowledge and practice of crisis intervention theory;
  • Knowledge of the various theories, forms, stages, and manifestations of addictive behavior, awareness of common manifestations of resistance to change in the addicted client, awareness of socio-cultural barriers to change, and an in-depth knowledge of alternative coping mechanisms to replace the use of chemicals;
  • An in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of individual and group treatment of chemical abusing clients to facilitate client self examination, expression of feelings, insight development, problem solving, and motivation to develop a chemically free lifestyle; and
  • Ability to instruct other Chemical Dependency Professional trainees in treatment planning, clinical teamwork, clinical record keeping, and counseling skills, in accordance with agency and DBHR established procedures.

The Residential Facility Staff (RFS) - Posting #10-002:

position works under the supervision of the Program Manager and House Manager of Inpatient Treatment. This position provides support in the group living and milieu component of the inpatient program. We need a RFS Staff to also back up the Male Urine Analysis Technician. Applicant must be a male. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently:

1. Ensures a safe environment that promotes recovery for patients.
2. Will assist patients as needed with homework assignments for treatment plan goals and objectives.
3. Will work as part of a treatment team.
4. Will provide advocacy and assist in facilitating access to necessary community resources, sober support systems, and other professionals.
5. Maintain complete and up to date files that document all services and contacts provided consistent with the requirements of WAC and agency policy.
6. Supports and implements agency policies and procedures.

Knowledge and Skills Required by the Position:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Prefer College course work and working towards 2 or 4 year degree
3. Working on CDP Certification - preferred.
4. Familiarity with issues specific to addiction and recovery.
5. Good verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: $10.00 per hour

Detox Aide - Posting #10-003: 

This position is responsible for conducting admissions screening pursuant to Physician's Standing Orders and Detox Policies and Procedures; interacting with medical staff, developing referrals, providing discharge planning, monitoring client's vitals per Physician's Standing Orders and completing charting requirements.  In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently:
