Lifeline Connections has had to close the residential program for deaf alcoholics and addicts. However, Deaf can still get the help needed through the Intensive Outpatient services at Lifeline Connections. Two counselors are available to help you that use American Sign Language for groups and individual counseling.
How to get help with alcohol and/or drug addiction

What services are available:
*Alcohol and drug assessment to determine what is best treatment recommendation for you.
*We are certified to conduct DUI assessments for Washington and Oregon.
*Intensive Outpatient Services- provides Education and Group process to learn to live life clean and sober
*Outpatient Services- provides relapse prevention services to help a person build strong recovery support in their community.
*Offer women and men groups weekly to focus on gender issues in a safe environment.
*Referrals to Sign Oxford house (VP 360-334-5043) or Betty Miller Oxford house (VP 360-334 5036- a safe clean and sober housing for Deaf and Hard of Hearing recovery addicts/alcoholics. Contact http://www.oxfordhouse.org for more information
Monthly 12 step meeting calendar for up to date information of where to find a Deaf only or interpreted meetings in the Vancouver /Portland Area. There will also be postings about upcoming recovery related events for Deaf community. For more information on Oregon AA interpreted or deaf meeting you will find information at http://www.pdacaa.org
*Referrals if appropriate to residential services. These referrals will be based on client meeting the ASAM requirements for residential services and funding available.
*Referrals to mental health services at Lifeline Connections Mental Health, Columbia River Mental Health Services, when appropriate and depending on funding available.
*Referral to Washington State Quit line for quitting use of nicotine products( cigarettes, chew tobacco).
*Offer family support for education and counseling as needed.
*Periodically we offer support for anger management/Domestic violence, parenting classes and quitting smoking/nicotine classes. These classes are offered based on need and funding available.
